I am motivated by new challenges and passionate about developing creative projects with sincere enthusiasm.
Creativity has always been a part of who I am, and I channeled that passion into completing an HND in Design for Print at the Glasgow College of Building and Printing, which paved the way for a successful graphic design career. Today, I’m a seasoned creative with extensive experience spanning diverse industries—from clothing manufacturers to large corporations.
Throughout my career, I’ve managed and implemented multiple rebrands and brand refreshes, showcasing my ability to develop creative solutions tailored to a variety of challenges. My work seamlessly blends design and illustration, allowing me to approach projects with a unique and versatile perspective.
I thrive on collaboration, bringing energy, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to achieving outstanding results that resonate with clients and teams alike."
A BRIEF WORK HISTORY
FIRST STOP... Trinity House Graphics—(first job offer after the employer saw my work at my graduation show). Work entailed designing and illustrating flyers, product catalogues, Christmas cards and magazine page layouts.
NEXT STOP... Baby Gro—I was a designer and illustrator who created graphics for Marks & Spencer's boys' and girls' nightwear garments. This included creating original all-over prints, appliqués, and working with licensed characters.
NEXT STOP... Cànan—I was a designer and illustrator again. This was an amazing experience. Being a native Gaelic speaker, it meant I had the perfect opportunity to brush up on my Gaelic skills as a large amount of the material produced was for the Gaelic College, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
NEXT STOP... Back to Glasgow for a bit of contract work in different studios, where I was required to hit the ground running.
NEXT STOP... Abbey for Intermediaries—After a year of working as a contractor, I was offered a permanent position. While there, I worked on a wide range of financial marketing materials for the high-net-worth sector: brochures, information packs, direct marketing pieces, and advertising.
NEXT STOP... Glasgow City Council—Educational Services—Again, while here, I worked as a designer and illustrator on large educational packages alongside general marketing material such as flyers, brochures, display stands, etc.
NEXT STOP... The National Australia Group—While working at GCC, I was headhunted by my previous marketing manager from Abbey, who was now working at the Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank (owned then by NAG) and asked whether I’d be interested in setting up an internal studio within the bank’s marketing department. Again, this was a fantastic opportunity for me, where I faced some great challenges in terms of developing my career and managing a team of three designers.
NEXT STOP... a bit more contracting and then taking the plunge to go it alone - and here I am!
